San Francisco-based Consultant for Strong Leadership and
Support of Regional Energy Efficiency
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, September
29, 2004 – The Midwest Energy Efficiency
Alliance (MEEA) honored Val Jensen, Director of the firm’s
San Francisco
office, with its Inspiring Efficiency
Chairman’s Award on September 28, 2004,
in Chicago, Illinois. The MEEA award recognizes individuals,
organizations, and policy makers for their efforts to increase
energy efficiency awareness and practices in the Midwest
region.
Mr. Jensen, an ICF Consulting Vice President of Energy
Policy and Programs, has more than 20 years of experience
in energy efficiency program
analysis, design, management, and evaluation. He oversees several regional energy efficiency
program evaluations, energy efficiency potential assessments,
integrated resource planning support, and energy efficiency
program implementation. He also helps lead ICF Consulting’s
regulatory
and litigation support work, and has served as
an expert witness on energy efficiency potential in a number
of recent regulatory proceedings. Mr. Jensen is one of more
than 200 professionals in the firm who focus on commercial
energy markets and energy policy and programs.
"Val's contributions to ICF Consulting have
been invaluable," says Jeanne Townend, an ICF Consulting
Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Energy Policy
and Programs. "We’re proud of Val's accomplishments
and the recognition he's received through this prestigious
award," she continues. "Our clients benefit greatly
from his strategic leadership and vision in energy efficiency
initiatives," says Ms. Townend.
Alecia Ward, Executive Director of MEEA, notes that, "Val
Jensen fundamentally understands the nature of energy and
the critical role that regional planning for energy efficiency
plays in the generation, transmission, and distribution of
safe, reliable, reasonably priced energy to Midwesterners."
Prior to joining ICF Consulting, Mr. Jensen was the Director
of the United States Department of Energy’s (DOE) Midwest
Regional Office from 1996 to 2000. He was an early supporter
of the concept of the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
and the need for regional coordination on energy issues.
After his transition from DOE to ICF Consulting, Mr. Jensen
continued to play a vital role with MEEA. His commitment,
dedication, and vision were critical to the early viability
of regional energy planning and market transformation. Through
his consulting work, he remains dedicated to the region's
planning and implementation of energy efficiency.
