PTL Enhances ICF Consulting’s Already Extensive
LNG and Energy Capabilities
HOUSTON, TX, November 2, 2005 – ICF Consulting announced
today that it has acquired substantially all of the assets
and retained all of the consulting professionals of Project
Technical Liaison Associates, Inc. (PTL), a leading Liquefied
Natural Gas (LNG) consulting firm. PTL’s 27 years
of service to the global LNG
industry strengthen ICF Consulting’s
recognized position as a leader in natural
gas and energy consulting.
"PTL has worked with almost every major LNG terminal
owner and a large proportion of the natural gas storage
sector," says Sudhakar Kesavan, ICF Consulting Chairman
and CEO. "PTL's LNG expertise complements ICF
Consulting's well recognized natural gas and power consulting
and environmental
capabilities. PTL will add in-depth LNG
engineering, safety, and code compliance expertise to ICF
Consulting's strong experience in LNG market and economic
analysis. This combination will enable ICF Consulting to
offer unparalleled support to the LNG sector," says
Mr. Kesavan.
"As LNG becomes a more important link in the global
energy supply, it was important for ICF Consulting to develop
a full suite of services for LNG businesses. Jim Lewis's
35 years of LNG expertise are a perfect fit to expand ICF
Consulting's platform of services to the energy market,"
says Jimmy Glotfelty, a vice president with ICF
Consulting in Houston and former Director of the Office of Electric
Transmission and Distribution, U.S. Department of Energy.
"Both firms have such similar clients and PTL's
employees joining the ICF Consulting team made perfect
strategic sense," says Jim Lewis, PTL founder and
chairman. "The integration of PTL's skills
and client base with the complementary, but much larger
resources and worldwide reach of ICF Consulting will retain
our preeminence as technical advisors to the LNG industry
and related governmental activities," says Mr. Lewis.
PTL was founded in 1978 and provides complete project
development, risk assessment, code compliance, and natural
gas vehicle services. The firm has been involved with numerous "firsts" in the LNG industry, including the first LNG barge, the first
U.S. LNG import terminal, the first LNG powered vehicle,
and the first commercial LNG vehicle.
