ICF Systems Engineering

Systems Engineering

ICF International's systems engineering teams help create the secure, scalable IT solutions that power large-scale public- and private-sector initiatives.

Whether helping a utility administer energy incentives or a U.S. government agency operate a nationwide grant program, ICF understands how to successfully apply technology to today’s challenges of compressed timelines, increased program complexity, and doing more with less.

Our comprehensive in-house teams of software engineers, cloud computing architects, service-oriented architecture specialists, and other IT professionals develop systems engineering solutions to help clients launch and run:

  • Processing systems that score, track, and manage grants
  • Information exchanges and clearinghouses
  • Workflow automation, tracking systems, and reporting capabilities for training and technical assistance centers
  • Scientific models
  • Data management and reporting systems
  • Logistics solutions
  • Grant programs

ICF is experienced in developing program-specific IT systems and knows how to navigate systems engineering requirements related to regulatory compliance needs, operational complexities, and service-oriented architecture. Our IT solutions are supported by robust resources, including a Tier 4 data center, the highest level available, for our hosting operations.

In the area of information security, we have standardized our operations on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) approach. We have solutions that meet NIST high, moderate, and low levels as appropriate. Our integrated approach of engineering and project management best practices for quality assurance, technical peer review, and monitoring, and Independent Verification and Validation are based on the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 Practices.

Featured Resources

Systems Integration

Our IT professionals are experienced with systems integration projects. Whether a project requires custom software development, implementation of a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product or a combination of both, organizations need to have their IT systems share data. Having data available for the entire organization provides the ability to analyze data and make better, well-informed decisions. We apply our CMMI Level 3 practices, which are based on industry standards and best practices, to all of our IT engagements. Additionally, we help our clients further integrate solutions by offering hosting services when needed.

Web Application Development

ICF has extensive information technology expertise and is a premier provider of information technology solutions to our clients. We partner with our customers, combining expert domain knowledge and outstanding technical capabilities to better execute our customer's business needs. Our application of industry standards, best practices, and our CMMI Level 3 practices ensures quality performance, and our focus on user-centered design ensures that our customers are reaching and connecting with users and external stakeholders.

Web Hosting Services

ICF has a team of multidisciplinary experts with knowledge of networks, routing, switching, firewalls, web server technologies, database technologies, high availability, disaster recovery, storage infrastructure, and hardware specifications. We have a deep knowledge of commonly deployed technology in multiple environments to meet the ongoing needs of our clients. To ensure the delivery of a high quality hosting solution, ICF utilizes the security and reliability of a Tier 4 data center to provide a solid foundation for the majority of our client-hosted applications.
