DETAILS OF SELECTED PROJECTS

Housing Rehabilitation Program Training for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

ICF International provided training in support of HUD-funded housing programs to implement the HOME and HOPE 3 provisions of the National Affordable Housing Act. Among the courses offered were "No Magic Needed: Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategies" and "Running HOME: A HOME Program Update." ICF International prepared detailed course materials, arranged all logistics, managed the registration process, and conducted the classes. Our training team included 20 trainers who live throughout the United States.

Training on Changes to Single Family Loan Origination Program for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Housing Service

ICF International developed training materials to help field office staff understand changes in origination procedures required by revisions to the 1944-A Regulation. ICF International identified relevant areas of change, communicated this information to field staff, and reinforced these messages with exercises designed to help participants practice implementing the new procedures. Materials developed include a training manual, overhead slides, and spreadsheets to assist field staff in making required calculations.

Lead-Based Paint Training Curriculum for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Lead-Based Paint

ICF International designed and developed a lead-based paint training curriculum for HUD staff, HUD grantees, property owners and managers, and lead-based paint professionals. The training provided guidance and tools relative to compliance with the Lead-Based Paint Rule for HUD programs. Suitable for classroom delivery, distance learning, and self-study, the materials included instructor and student manuals, exercises, a videotape, and self-study exercises.

Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)/HOME Compliance Training for Property Owners and Managers for the City of Chicago

ICF International staff designed and delivered three, one-day training sessions for owners and managers of properties receiving LIHTC and/or HOME funds administered by the City of Chicago. The training covered the policies and operating procedures that owners and managers need to follow in order to comply with the affordability requirements of both programs. Key topics included tenant eligibility, establishing unit rents, maintaining low-income occupancy, reporting, and record keeping. The classroom-style training combined lectures, exercises, and case studies.
