Implement:
How do I execute green changes at my company?

Simply selecting a program, or a set of programs, is a good start to becoming more environmentally friendly. However, many companies find they have neither the availability of resources nor the required skill sets to manage an environmental program successfully through to completion on their own.

To that end, ICF provides a variety of support options and maintains a network of implementation partners to ensure all the environmental programs our clients undertake are a guaranteed success.

ICF provides three types of green program support:

Green Program Management

ICF can provide a range of services to a company undertaking energy saving or environmental sustainability initiatives. From high-level program oversight and guidance to hands-on support with every aspect of program execution, measurement, and optimization, ICF has resources to support our clients’ needs.

Green Change Management

Change management is one of the hardest components of program implementation. “Bending cultural metal” can be a serious and difficult undertaking, and ICF is experienced in working with companies to address these challenges.

ICF supports clients by helping them manage the changes in resource requirements that arise from implementation projects. Some of these changes may include culturally disruptive issues such as the creation of new jobs, changes to existing roles, or additional function requirements that are added to an employee’s current scope of work.

All of these things can be difficult for an organization to accommodate, and ICF’s experts have years of experience supporting resource changes resulting from environmental programs. In addition to the organization's changes, business processes and procedures often need to be documented, analyzed, and updated or occasionally redesigned.

With a core expertise in energy and environmental business process reengineering, ICF is a true thought leader in bringing leading edge capabilities to our clients’ initiatives. ICF can also provide support in building out the technical infrastructure (i.e., the tracking capability) required to enable these programs. ICF’s technology and management systems resources have extensive experience with building and integrating IT systems for energy and environmental programs.

Green Managed Services

Frequently, companies find that it is easier to outsource a program than to build or buy a solution and then integrate it themselves. Consequently, ICF also has developed an outsourced program management solution that allows our team to own and run performance improvement programs on behalf of our clients. Thus, clients get all the benefits (and results) of executing a world-class energy management and environmental sustainability program, without the hassles of disrupting existing staff and resources or needing to make significant IT investments.

Employee Engagement

Today’s companies are finding that Corporate Sustainability is becoming increasingly important to its workforce. Demonstrating that companies share their employees’ values can not only serve as a recruitment tactic for talented and passionate candidates; it can also be a powerful retention tool. Additionally, employees inspired by their company’s example are often great resources of insight and innovation. ICF has a unique, Web-based tool called Do Your Part! that can be deployed specifically for this purpose and is often combined with Communication, Training, and Change Management programs for maximum effectiveness.
