Disaster recovery is long and arduous for everyone involved. This journey map
illustrates the complex recovery aid process to help you better understand the
various steps impacted residents and communities need to take in order to get
access to funding.
Following some large-scale disasters, Congress will provide
additional long-term recovery aid through the Department of
Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) CDBG-DR program.
CDBG-DR grantees are typically states but can sometimes be cities
and counties.
ICF is an established leader in disaster recovery, having been on the
ground for nearly every major disaster in recent U.S. history. For many
of us, it’s the most important work we’ll ever do in our careers.
If you’ve been impacted by a disaster, we hope this resource helps you
better understand what to expect.
